1960s Moonglow Lucite and Austrian Crystal Bead Cascade Brooch - red
Here is a super Red 1960s brooch made up of Moonglow Lucite beads, faceted Austrian crystal beads and small golden beads. It looks like a load of delicious cranberries. The construction of the brooch is intricate with the selected beads wired and chained together to make a cascade that sparkles and shimmers with every movement. The brooch is constructed on a golden oval back plate with the larger Moonglow beads arranged over this base with the other beads chain linked to them. The Berry brooch is most likely from Western Germany. Although there is no signature or maker's mark, work of this kind is seen on brooches, necklaces, bracelets and clip on earrings from this era; with a lot of them signed 'West Germany'. This gorgeous Redbrooch is a good size being 3 inches by 2.5inches approximately. The brooch is in good vintage condition fastening with a roll-over style safety clasp to the pin. The only thing to mention is there are scratch marks commensurate with age on the reverse metal back plate. These do not detract in any way from the ease of wear or beauty of this item of vintage costume jewellery.
