1950s Ronson Cigarette Case - Cocktail case with Mother of Pearl (SOLD)
What a glamorous case this is! Here we have a 1950's barrel shaped cigarette case manufacturer for Ronson in the 1950s to match up to one of their lighters. The case measures 3 inches by 1.5 inches by a little over an inch. The top of the ladies' cigarette case is decorated with natural mother of pearl, which is laid in little rectangular tiles to give a beautiful effect. The body of the case is in gold toned metal with engine engraving to the bottom and the sides. The inside of the case is finished in a matt gold wash and the words 'Fashioned for Ronson'. It is likely to have been manufactured by one of the quality compact makers, maybe Stratton or Kigu. This case is in good condition with a few little speck marks inside it and some tarnishing to the bottom where the case has been handled over the years. The mother of pearl top on this cigarette case is in excellent order. It would look great in a collection of ladies accessories or small boxes. It could be used for carrying hand rolled cigarettes but would be too small to hold today's tipped cigarettes.
