1940s Casein Plastic Buckle - Burgundy Red Colour Marble Effect
Here is a very nice, collectable early Casein plastic dress accessory from the 1940s. This useful buckle or huge button is most unusual. It could be used as a statement button decoration on knitwear, wrap cardigans or a coat. It is suitable as a belt buckle or a hat sew on too. It also it works very as a scarf slide to hold a slim scarf in position as shown in the photos with my green and red striped cotton scarf. The design is multi-way as well - it can be used convex or concave as it has equally lovely colour and pattern to each side. The Colour is a rich red/burgundy and the design has swirled marbled effect. In excellent condition the early Casein plastic buckle has a diameter of 9 cms. There is a double aperture of 2cms x 1.2cms through which the ribbon, belt or hat band would thread. Use this buckle, button, decor, scarf slide for your vintage sewing project or add it to your collection of buckles and vintage jewellery.
