1940s - 1950s Diamante Necklace with Baguette Stones (SOLD)
Vintage costume jewellery that imitates the real thing is on offer here. This superb diamante collar dates to the late 40s into the1950 and is a really well designed and structured necklace. Measuring just over 15 inches in length when fastened the necklace has a gently curving front made up of linked sections. The design uses nice sparkling round faux diamond stones with curved jewel set spacers all fixed to baguette shaped stones. Though dating from the late 1940s into the1950s the design of the necklace harks back to the fabulous Art Deco era with its use of lots of rectangular baguette cut diamante jewels interspaced with double set round diamantes. Some of the stones have been collar set meaning the metal is completely surrounding the rim of the stone, others are claw set. The diamante necklace is mounted in rhodium plated metal with a silvertone finish. This vintage necklace is very good quality and has a traditional fastener, of the kind often found on pearl necklaces, which hooks through and snaps shut. Offered in very good condition this vintage necklace would be perfect for a special event and would be ideal jewellery for a vintage wedding. A perfect necklace for a bride.
