1930s/40s Art Deco Buttons - Carved Early Plastic - Light Grey - Unused on Original Sales Card (sold)

Here are a dozen light grey early plastic buttons from the Art Deco era, circa the mid 1930s to the 1940s. Each button has many circular swirls engraved upon it and the finished effect has the look of an owl's face!  Made in France these buttons have all the chic sophistication of Paris Fashion.  Supplied on their original sales card these buttons are perfect to use of to add to a collection of vintage and antique buttons or early plastics.   There are 12 buttons 2.5cms in diameter and 2.5mms in thickness. These vintage buttons are stitched on their original card which is marked with the brand HAUTE NOUVEAUTE, PARIS  and indicates that the buttons were made in France with the words - fabrication Francaise.  The blue card is a good example of Art Deco packaging too with red and black linear design and the choice of typeface for the wording.   The buttons themselves are galilith or casein, a bakelite era plastic which was used a lot for buttons and buckles in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.
