1930s Silver, Diamante and Faux Pearl Screw on Earrings
These darling vintage screw on earrings are bright and sparkling and look just like little diamond and pearl clusters. It would be hard to tell them from the 'real thing' as they are so beautifully constructed. Made of high quality faceted lead crystal glass diamantes with a faux half pearl to the centre and Sterling Silver the earrings date from the mid 1930s but have a timeless elegance. These earrings have a twist back screw on device making them suitable for those who do not have pierced ears. These earrings have an English patent mark which dates to 1936 and it relates to the cup system which is used to encase the jewels and hold them perfectly in place. These earrings are in excellent condition and their style means they would match beautifully to your antique or contemporary jewellery. They would be absolutely perfect for bridal wear. Dimensions are approx 2 cams from top to bottom with the diamanté and pearl cluster itself measuring about 8mms in diameter. There are Patent marks on the back of each silver cupped diamante cluster earring saying PAT.483401 for a patent registered in the UK in 1936. The back of the screw twist device on each earring is simply marked 'SIL' for Sterling silver.
