1930s Rainbow Crystal Bead Necklace with Rolled Gold Wires (SOLD)
Here is a very pretty 1930s necklace with Rainbow glass beads with the larger ones being Russian Cane Beads - which means they were made from canes and rods of glass which have been worked and then cut and faceted on the corners. The result is most Art Deco in style which is appropriate as this is a deco era piece of jewellery. The Russian Cane technique is not exclusive to Russia, indeed these beads most probably originate from Czechoslovakia or Bohemia. There are lovely flashes of colour through the beads with red, blue, yellow and green showing through the clear glass crystal. Linking the beads together are rolled gold wires. This vintage necklace measures 16.25 inches in length with the largest bead measuring approximately 1cm. In excellent condition this necklace is ready to wear!
