1930s Clip On Earrings with Honey Amber coloured Glass Oval Jewels
These vintage earrings date to the 1930s and are some of the earliest you get in the clip-on types as it was around this date that Earclips were first introduced. The back wire that springs to hold these on is a comfy clip. These elegant oval earrings, each set with a facet cut glass crystal jewel, are in gold washed metal. The golden metal is used to collet set the jewel and there is a rope twist effect border. These classic earrings have the look of real gold jewellery but they are humble costume copies! The oval jewel is a rich warm golden orange; the colour of a honey citrine stone or a warm Baltic Amber. Each earring measures approx 1.5 cms by 2 cms and the fronts are in Excellent order but the reverse earclip wires do show loss of gilding commensurate with their age but function perfectly and do not detract in any way.
