1930's Art Deco Necklace with Matching Dress Clip in the style of Jakob Bengal
SO chic, so smart and so modern - but this necklace set is almost a hundred years old! Infinitely wearable and still with the wow factor, this art deco chrome and green early plastic Galilith necklace and dress clip set dates from the 1930's and is a joy. Measuring 16.5 inches long, the necklace consists of some elaborate rope knot twist panels combined with three rectangular green beads plus a substantial shiny chrome linked chain. The three rectangular green beads are just over half an inch in length and a quarter of an inch thick. This classic art deco necklace is spaced with patterned interlinked chrome metal circles to great effect. This art deco bead necklace is in great order with only wear commensurate to its age at tiny points on the chrome panels and the bolt ring clasp and loop. This is an authentic art deco period necklace, not retro or a new copy but the real thing! It has the look of Jakob Bengel’s designs much loved at that time; it may actually be an authentic piece from Jakob Bengel of Idar-Obstei, Germany. It is pictured on my life sized model Ellie so you can see how lovely it looks on. Twinned with the necklace is a neat green Galilith and Chrome Dress Clip in classic Art Deco design. The dress clip has lined and stepped chrome decor to the front on an arrow pointed slab of green early plastic which is screwed to the chrome backplate allwing a little of the chrome to show for decorative effect. The dress clip measures 3.5cams by 2cms and closes with a nice, snappy pronged back clip to keep it securely in place. They look so good together. The price is for both items.
