Here we have a beautiful pair of vintage earrings from the quality English makers ' Ciro'. Ciro of Bond Street were well known for their high quality costume jewellery ranges which included faux and cultured pearls, diamante and paste jewellery in both base metals, Sterling silver and 9ct gold. This pair of vintage earrings are classics, they are in the Edwardian transitional style with just a hint of Art Deco in their design. These earrings consist of a screw-on fitting with a diamante or paste set triangular top from which there is a further panel design, again set with faux diamond stones. These lovely old earrings finish with a flower like piece where a creamy button faux pearl centre is surrounded by 6 individial paste jewels to represent the petals. There is a a maker's mark of SCP on the back and this was the mark used by 'Ciro' for their range of Sterling silver costume jewellery. Although these earrings do not have a separate silver mark they will be sterling silver with a rhodium coating. The condition is very good to excellent with just a tiny scuff on one of the pearls that doesn't detract in any way from its beauty or wearability and is simply a sign of age. As far as colours go image 3 gives the best reproduction of the colour of the pearl which is not as white as it appears in the main photo, it is more a gentle creamy pearl. As far as the size is concerned the total drop of these 1920s - 1930s earrings is 7 cms with the little flower pearl and diamante cluster being 2 cms in diameter. So who will own these fabulous earrings and enjoy wearing them? I think they would be absolutely perfect for a bride!
