1920'S - 1930'S Teeny Tiny Art Deco Lipstick by Tattoo.(SOLD)

This little lipstick is a really great collectable.  It is such a tiny size at under an inch long.  Made from a chromed metal with a painted black enamel band around the base, it still has the original bright red lippy inside! It has the most wonderful decoration etched all around - Deco dancing girls reminiscent of Josephine Baker in her Revue Negre in decadent Paris in the 1920s! There are four of these grass skirted dancers each one in a different pose.  The engraved ladies have armlets and ankle cuffs, curly hair and bare breasts too, very risque! If you click on the photos here to enlarge them you will see the fine details.  I think that "Tattoo " were USA manufacturers and I have seen the tiny companion compacts in the past.  I guess they were so small so as to fit into the little beaded evening purses used by the ladies of the time.  This little lipstick is in excellent condition and would be perfect to add to any collection of vanity items, compacts and the like!
