This is a lovely example of vintage Italian Micro Mosaic Jewellery. Here we have a brooch pin in the shape of a heart. Many coloured glass tiles or 'tessarae' have been used to make up the design - red, green, white, yellow, purple,orange and blue. The brooch has a silvertone metal back signed with the letters 'AD RM and Italy'. It is approximately 1 inch by 1 inch in size. I would estimate that this brooch is circa 1950s but it could be earlier. It fastens with a safety pin type clasp and is in excellent vintage order with just a few scratches on the white metal back which proves it is a vintage brooch that has been worn and loved! This would make a delightful sweetheart pin or love token and would be just the thing for a Valentine's Day gift.
