Vintage 1940's/1950's Souvenir Pin - Hiking Hat, Pick with Gentian and Edelweiss Flowers

On a feathered green fabric background the white metal climber's pick, hiking hat and alpine edelweiss and gentian flowers stand out a treat.  This is a kitsch collectable vintage brooch which is great fun! This lovely old brooch is typical of the souvenir jewellery produced in the late 1940s and 1950s.  This pin is probably from the AustrianTyrol or Switzerland.  You can just imagine a jolly girl hiker in a knitted jersey, long shorts, tall socks and hiking boots wearing this brooch back in the day!  Our Happy Hiking Brooch measures almost 2 inches in diameter, it fastens with a secure back plate ( with maker's mark which appears to be SJ in a circle ) and guarded pin and is in excellent condition.
