This brooch has the most beautiful hand-carved bone frame around a delightful floral picture made up in micro mosaic. The frame has pierced and raised decoration and has been expertly finished with superb detail and fine work. The picture shows an orangey red and an orangey yellow open flower with white daisies and green and white leaves all set into a black background. The oval brooch measures one and a half inches by one and a quarter inches and fastens with a metal c type clasp. Although an Antique jewel, dating from circa 1880 -1890, this piece is in excellent condition. It is very wearable but would also be a rare and interesting piece of micro mosaic jewelry for the collector.
