Here is a Nurses' Buckle in Hallmarked Sterling Silver in the Art Nouveau style still on its original blue stretch material belt. The buckle is Hallmarked Silver with an import mark, maker's initials of AN in a shield shape, the mark of the London Assay Office and the date mark for the year 1985. If this were a period item from the Art Nouveau era it would be much more expensive. It is a very good replica and may have even been cast from an original piece. The buckle has been made by the casting process and is very detailed with the flowers and foliate decoration being finely defined. The design is that of a large convolvus flower with trailing buds and leaves held within a pierced border. The dimensions of the buckle are 3 and a quarter inches by a little over 1 and three quarter inches and the piece is in excellent vintage condition.
