Here is a most wearable haircomb. Made of celluloid, an early plastic invented by the Victorians and used to simulate Tortoiseshell and horn, this comb has the added advantage of diamante studding. A simple and classic pattern of a diamond shape within a border has been picked out using 50 individual faceted glass stones which are set into the material. The comb is a pleasing conker brown colour and is in excellent antique order; robust enough to use. This vintage hair accessory measures just over 4 and a half inches long by 2 inches across at its widest point. It is a two pronged comb in the Japanese style. Date wise it could be Edwardian or maybe even into the 1920's Art Deco era. A good addition to a vintage hairslide and comb collection, lovely for those who enjoy early and bakelite era plastic antiques and collectables or just very nice to style your hair now!
