Chunky Celluloid Faux Tortoiseshell Haircomb Circa 1900- 1920 (sold)

This lovely haircomb is extremely robust ,being a thicker than usual celluloid.  It is a very convincing fake tortoiseshell!  It has nice amber and darker toffee marbling. With a pretty shape at the top and pierced decoration to further enhance this comb.  It is the sort of haircomb that was in style from the turn of the century until the 1920's.   It measures approx 9.5cms (3.5ins) across and is 14.5cms (6ins) in length.
