1950s Lucite Mother of Pearl effect Hair Comb (sold)
Hair combs and hair slides made great hairs ornaments for brides and bridesmaids and this pretty comb will add a subtle touch of style to a bun or upswept hair style. Here we have a really nice comb made from acrylic lucite yet looking just like real mother-of-pearl. It dates to the 1950s . The comb has been pierced and cut to give a leaf design and the surface of the comb is further enhanced with indented lines to add more interest to the design. Size is 4.5 inches or 12 cms approx from the top of the hair comb to the tip of the tines or teeth and 3.5 inches or 9 cms approx across the widest top part. This vintage comb is gently curved which is both practical in use and perfect in look. This vintage hair comb is in excellent condition. The natural pearl white colour would make this the ideal bridal hair accessory . It would also make a good addition to a collection of vintage and antique combs and hair accessories as the pearlised coloured combs are much rarer than the usual tortoiseshell colours. Or if you have the desire to add a touch of Latin dance to your life hair comb would not look out of place as you flamenco dance or do the Tango!
