This is a super necklace set with faux Amethyst crystals. There are large deep purple round crystals and smaller light mauve ( almost pink ) jewels too. In total 188 individual crystals make up this 1950's vintage necklace. All of the crystals would have been claw set by hand and it is most likely that the necklace is Austrian in origin. Many of the top quality crystals used in costume jewellery at this time came from Austria. The metal has a rhodium coated finish throughout and is silver in colour. This 1950's vintage necklace measures 16 inches in length including the bolt ring clasp and is a little over half an inch wide on the swags. It is in very good condition throughout and would be a delightful necklace for a bride, bridesmaid or to wear to a ball or party!
