1950s Blue bird Swift or Swallow Brooch with Cold Enamel and Marcasite Effect (SOLD)

Romantic and cute, this 1950s brooch is in excellent order.  It shows a Swallow or Swift type of bird on the wing.  A romantic message is conveyed in this lovely  pin.  The Swallow or Swift when used in antique and vintage jewellery says 'I will return'. This vintage brooch is finished in two shades of blue cold enamel and has a marcasite effect decorating the head, tips of wings and forks of the tail.  The brooch is a good size measuring 2.25 by 1.25 inches.  It is finished in a silvertone and fastens with a secure roll over type of clasp.  This vintage brooch is very good quality and so wearable.
