This Thistle Flower Pin ( the flower of Scotland) has hand painted cold enamel tops in palest pinky purple and soft green leaves. The body of each of the two thistles is encrusted with real marcasite stones and there is a neat twist of silver set with marcasite around the stems. In a silver tone finish this nice vintage brooch dates from the 1950's to 1960's and is very similar to the Exquisite company's jewellery - it may be an unsigned piece made by this jewellery house. In excellent condition, this vintage brooch measures just over 1.5 inches each way. It fastens with a secure roll over type clasp and would look very jaunty on your lapel!
